Chartered Knowledge Manager (MCLIP)

I am a registered Knowledge Management (KM) practitioner of the Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals (CILIP). I help diverse teams and individuals start, incorporate or promote KM in their workplace, even from scratch.

I also created and manage the KM Peer Mentoring Program of the KM4Dev and SIKM Communities of KM Practitioners. This is an annual, free and voluntary program collaborated by the KM4Dev and SIKM Leaders Communities of KM Practitioners. Should you wish to know more about it, feel free to listen to this podcast where I gave details on the program, as well as my motivation behind providing mentoring to KM practitioners in our communities. Also honored to be named one of the impactful volunteers who have shaped KM4Dev community in its first 25 years.

Another series I’ve put together with fellow KMer and yogi, Ron Young, is the “The Yoga of Knowledge: “Meditation of the Knowledge Worker”, a virtual monthly series that encourages KM practitioners to explore the power of Meditation, in particular, breathwork that can be done seated and in the confines of an office or any private space. Practicing meditation has shown to promote beneficial physiological effects leading to mental clarity, emotional regulation, stress-reduction, and consequently sound, better, here-&-now based decision-making. Information on the sessions can be found here.

In addition, I serve as a member of the Organizing Committee of the Knowledge Summit Dublin conference that takes place every June and organize community events for the Knowledge Management Community of Washington, DC.

In my previous experience, I advocated to incorporate KM in an established international organization. This helped bring about a new division to incorporate KM and where I served as the first head of its KM Section. I also created and managed the organization’s Employee and Community Networks, orchestrating staff engagement and learning events. I served as its first coordinator for over a decade. When I still served as a Senior Statistican, I applied KM and design thinking in the organization’s flagship statistical publication to better highlight pertinent economic insights for data users.

Do you have a recurring challenge to tackle in your organization? Are you struggling to start applying KM in your unit? Feel free to set up a meeting to work with me so we can find solutions together.

Unsure about how KM can help your or your team’s work? Happy to have a complimentary introductory chat with you, where I would be happy to answer all your questions.
